Closed Loop Systems

Closed loop systems can link to AI because an AI could output something which is then adjusted on by the AI.

For example, in a manufacturing process – something could be designed by AI and then produced, then the AI can check the output for any errors and make changes based on this.

Artificial intelligence

  • Endeavours to simulate human intelligence in machine
  • There are two broad categories
    • Narrow Ai – limited context; does one task extremely well
      • E.g. google search, image recognition, Siri/Alexa
    • Artificial general intelligence – ‘strong ai’ apply intelligence to solve any problem
      • Mostly seen in dystopian science fiction
